UEFA presents a new sponsor for the next three years
UEFA continues to expand its list of sponsors by signing an agreement with the Austrian online betting brand bwin, making it an official partner for the UEFA Europa and the UEFA Europa Conference Leagues. This is quite a good piece of news for those who would like to use the services of the best agent for original accounts.
The association will remain in effect until the end of the 2023-2024 season. Bwin will receive the benefits of its signature by the presence of its logo in all aspects relevant to the two competitions, including but not limited to, matches, broadcasts, stadiums, websites and social networks. On the other hand, UEFA gains access from the inside to the world of online betting. In effect, this is more than a win-win contract for both sides.
Although many may not agree that sportsbooks are now gaining a stronger foothold in football, one of the terms that is specifically stipulated in the contract, is that bwin will actively participate in UEFA´s fight against match-fixing. The goal is to cooperate and protect the integrity of the sport. On this issue, the bookmaker has created the website “betresponsibly.info” to promote responsible gambling, work against corruption and present tools to control illegal gambling.
Stephan Heilmann, General Director of Digital in Europe for Entain (Entain PLC is the owner of bwin), expressed his views on the subject:
“This agreement provides us with an extensive list of opportunities to improve our offer and create experiences and unique content for our users. It is also a privileged platform to reach football fans in the different regulated markets around the world, highlighting our incomparable combination of the best product and a safe environment in which to bet responsibly”.
UEFA Marketing Director Guy-Laurent Epstein commented that:
“We are delighted to have secured bwin as the first official sports betting partner for one of our competitions at the official partner level. As a brand that defines itself by being in contact with fans and their passion for football and clubs across Europe, bwin is a perfect fit for our competitions”
The presence of bwin in football is not new. We have seen the brand sponsoring huge European clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Juventus, the Portuguese Liga NOS, and the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. They have also signed on as the official betting agents for Manchester United.
What remains to be seen is whether this agreement will actually work. Bettors wish that it must as that will mean that when they place their bets, they will feel confident that the event is not fixed. Skeptics say that it is a contract that allows the wolf inside the fort. We will be monitoring the situation and keep you informed through updates from our news section.
