Copa Libertadores 2019 – finale, teams’ journey, overview and highlights
Copa Conmebol Libertadores 2019 is the 60th edition of the biggest South American clubs’ tournament and it’s about to come to an end since the two finalists are already decided. Of course, you can bet on this match if you register with the best betting services, ACC-EX.
For the first time in Copa Libertadores’ history, the finale will be played as an only-match and in neutral land. It was decided on August 2018 that the selected stadium is Estadio Nacional in Santiago de Chile. However, this country is facing a very difficult socio-political situation in the recent days and, although the finale will be on November 23rd, there are many uncertainties around it and Conmebol is already figuring out a plan B.
The first curious fact is about the semifinals, where we had 2 Brazilian teams facing each other (Flamengo and Gremio) and 2 Argentinian teams on the other side (the arch-rivals, River Plate and Boca Juniors).
Flamengo, the first finalist, crushed Gremio with an overall score sheet of 6:1 (1:1 in the first leg and 5:0 in the second one) and they may be heading to the finale as favorites, but we can’t be 100% sure yet since they will be facing last-year champion, River Plate. The second finalist, River, took the lead in the first leg by beating Boca Juniors 2:0 at home and, although they failed to win the second leg (1:0), the overall score favored them. At this point, both teams are very strong and they both have good chances to get the cup.
Historically, Flamengo is one of the 4 Brazilian teams that have never relegated from first division and that have played in all the season of its league; in Copa Libertadores, they have had 15 participations and have won the tournament only once, in 1981. On the other hand, River Plate is the club that has played the most seasons in the first division and the one with more titles of all (35); regarding Copa Libertadores, it’s the current champion and, after 35 participations (the Argentinian club with the most participations), they have managed to win it 4 times. This one marks also the first time these two teams will face each other on a finale of Copa Libertadores.
This will definitively be an exciting matchup which you shouldn’t miss and also, you should take advantage of the best odds and offers from the best European bookmakers via best betting services, ACC-EX. What are you waiting for?
